Career Opportunities

Opportunities for employment as a health and physical education teacher look very promising. Public awareness of the importance of health and physical education has been increasing in recent years due to related research and significant reports from the U.S. Surgeon General and the Center for Disease Control that have called for daily physical education in the schools.

Student who complete all requirements and graduate from our program as certified health and physical education teachers may be employed in grades K -12 at both public and private schools in Louisiana. Although other states may have their own unique requirements to teach in that state, our K-12 certified teachers would have passed the national teacher examination (Praxis) and should be able to meet the requirements for certification in most states.
