Health & Physical Education Critical Courses

Critical courses are courses that inhibit your progress in the program if you do not earn a "C" or better in these courses. These courses have been defined as critical courses by the Louisiana Board of Regents.

The following are critical courses in the 2013-2015 Academic Catalog for Kinesiology, Health & Physical Education, Grades K-12.

Semester 1

  • ENGL 101-Introduction to Academic Writing
  • EDCI 100-Orientation to Teacher Education

Semester 2

  • MATH 100-College Algebra Fundamentals OR MATH 105-College Algebra
  • EDFL 106-Introduction to Education

Remember: you must have at least a 2.5 Cumulative GPA to continue after this semester.

Semester 3

  • BIOL 110-Fundamentals of Biology I
  • KNES 101-Introduction to Kinesiology

Semester 4

  • BIOL 216-Applied Anatomy & Physiology Kinesiology
  • BIOL 217-Applied Anatomy & Physiology Lab Kinesiology

Remember: you must have an ACT Composite of 22 or higher OR passing scores for all 3 parts on Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Reading, Writing, and Mathematics and a cumulative 2.5 GPA to continue in your curriculum after this semester.
